In 1937, Suzuki began a project to build a small car. Within a 2 year period, Suzuki had built several prototypes. These were small compact cars. The first Suzuki cars were powered by a 4 stroke, 4 cylinder engine that was liquid cooled. This original motor generated 13 horse power!
